The graphics are struggling bigtime on new releases - the last game I bought which it could handle was Jedi Knight II. Thanks for the suggestions, any guess what might be going on? It sounds like your graphics card is dying or just overheating. Check the fan on it if you haven't already, try running at minimum resolution, low textures, etc , and see if to goes a bit longer before you lock up. Rgds, Frank.

Or you could just skip the doofy $500 graphics card and get yourself a PS2, cause other than gaming, yeah the graphics card is mostly a moot point. Most rendering applications all rely on your system processor(s) to do their work and just skip right on over any functionality the graphics card is capable of.

I'm guessing it's a graphics card driver issue - 'cos I've only noticed it since a driver update. Card is a nvidia riva tnt 64 32 Mb graphics driver version 5.2.1.6 There have recently been several threads regarding this on this newsgroup. An archive search should turn up relevant information.
